Many candidates have been wondering and asking questions on how to check WAEC result after release of the results and how long will it take before the result is released after the conclusion of the exam.

The board of WAEC has promised that candidates will be able to check their results sixty (60) days after the conclusion of their examination and they have been doing that since the past 3-4 years or so.

The results for this year have been released and candidates are to follow the guidelines below to check their results. However, candidates are to note that the same method is used in checking for all the three exams conducted by WAEC i.e. WAEC SSCE MAY/JUNE, GCE FIRST SERIES JANUARY/FEBRUARY and GCE SECOND SERIES NOVEMBER/DECEMBER.

It is worthy of note that the timing of the exams are now different so the months mentioned earlier might not tally with the current day months e.g. MAY/JUNE is now MARCH/APRIL while NOVEMBER/DECEMBER is now AUGUST/SEPTEMBER. But whichever it is among them you have written, see below for details on how to check WAEC results.

HOW TO GET WAEC RESULT CHECKER

But before we proceed , candidates will need to get a result checker popularly know a s scratch card, the result checker contains most importantly the PIN and the Serial number and maybe instructions on how to check WAEC results, a new purchased PIN must be unscratched to ensure it has not been previously used by someone.

For WASSCE i.e. school candidates, the PIN and Serial number are contained in the AWEC examination plastic ID card given to them, that is why students are asked to keep it jealously and for some candidates whose ID cards are still with their school, it means they will have to approach the registrar or principal of their school.

Also, for GCE candidates, their PIN and serials are as well on their PHOTO CARD, i.e. the WAEC GCE registration printout and also candidates are expected to have it with them after the release of results to enable them check their WAEC results. Candidates are to note that the result checker is part of the registration fee paid, so all things being equal, they are not meant to be charged again, regards WAEC result checker.

But in any case, either of the candidates i.e. GCE and SSCE misplace their PIN and serial number, then they will have to approach WAEC scratch card vendors or Cyber Café to purchase their result checkers.

STEPS ON HOW TO CHECK WAEC RESULTS (FIRST METHOD)

Candidates are to follow below steps to easily to answer their questions on how check WAEC results.

  1. For starter, proceed to WAEC result checker website.

  4. On the following page, in the column for examination number, enter your ten-digit examination number which comprises of your 7-digits school number e.g. 4241520 and your 3- digits candidates’ number e.g. 001 but you will enter the examination number as 4241520001
  5. Next is for you to type your examination year in the next column e.g. 2021.
  6. Select the examination type. Private candidates is for GCE while school candidates is for WASSCE.
  7. Provide your card serial number in the following column followed by
  8. Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) in the next column.
  9. Click on submit and wait for your result to be displayed.

While the result window pops up but didn’t display result, relax and wait for it to display the result and don’t rush into reloading the page several times as this might count as number of times a particular result checker has been used. A result checker can only be used maximum of five times.

Not everyone that have access to the internet at every minute and for people without internet and wants to check WAEC result, we have written this to also answer their question on how to check WAEC result using SMS.

Below is the step to be followed to check your WAEC result on your mobile phone through text message. It is worthy of note that this offer is only available to MTN, GLO and AIRTEL users.

Candidates are to follow the below format strictly as inability to do so will lead to no result.

Send a text message (SMS) in this format to 32327

WAEC*Examination No*PIN*Examination Yea

(MTN, Airtel & Glo users).

For example -:
WAEC*4241520001*123456789012*2021
There is no space between the characters, and after sending the code to 32327, candidates are to note that the SMS will cost N30 and are to ensure they have up to N30 account balance airtime on their phone. After successful delivery of the message, the result will be sent to the candidate shortly barring any error of input by the candidate.
