GOODNEWS

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu hereby invites application for the2021 federal government scholarship award from all eligible Nigerian students. This opportunity is specifically opened to only Nigerian students in public (federal and state) tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Only eligible candidates will further be invited to participate in the 2020/2021 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) that will be conducted across all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. The scholarship is not opened to Part-time students.
  2. Its solely for Nigerian students in Nigeria.
  3. Upon successful application, the scholarship takes effect from the beginning of academic session after its awarded.
  4. After successful application, change of course intra-university is not allowed as this will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship opportunity.
  5. The scholarship award serves two purposes of assisting the Nigerian student in terms of payment of school fees and upkeep allowance while on campus.
  6. It cannot be run alongside other scholarship awards not for part-time studies.
  7. Applicants are advised to choose CBT center that is most close to their place of residence during registration. There are about 12 CBT centers nationwide to choose from.

 

Eligibility for the Federal Government Tertiary Institution Scholarship.

  • All applicants that are undergraduates in (UG, HND & NCE) must be:
  • Full-time student
  • a student of either federal or state tertiary institution e.g. University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic or college of education in Nigeria
  • in the second year or above in the tertiary institution
  • have at least 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or its equivalents or 5.0 on a seven (7) point scale. This rule applies to physically challenged applicants as well.

 

  • All Postgraduate studies applicants must be:
  • a minimum of first degree with Second class Honors Upper Division
  • a registered postgraduate studies student
  • a fulltime student
  • a student in any Nigerian public university

 

ELIGIBLE COURSES/FACULTIES FOR THE 2021 FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Below are the list of faculties, schools or courses that can benefit from the 2020/2021 federal government scholarship award. It is worthy of note that engineering is grouped under science and technology. So, all applicants studying engineering related course should choose faculty of science and technology while filling the form.

Guidelines on How to Apply for the 2020/2021 Federal Government Tertiary Institution Scholarship.

All application entries are to be filled and completed online by doing the following:

  • Fill the form online by submitting all required information without falsifying any. False information leads to outright disqualification.
  • After completing the application, proceed to print a copy of your application form.
  • Make photocopy of the documents below and attach it to your application form.
  • Admission letter into the institution.

  • Course registration form for the current semester you are in.
  • Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) results from your year one till your current level.
  • Photocopy of your school I.D. card (both front and back).
  • Letter of Identification from your State/Local Government
  • Two (2) Passport photographs with your name boldly written behind it and signed by you.

 

EXAMINATION TIME: 9.00 A.M DAILY

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: The registration started on Monday,14th December 2020 and is to end on Sunday, 24th January 2021.
