2021 WAEC GCE REGISTRATION FORM (FIRST SERIES)
This is to inform all prospective candidates interested in writing WAEC GCE 2021 that the registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2021 – First Series has commenced on Monday, December 21, 2020.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) added the January/February GCE to the yearly GCE exam in 2018 while sustaining the August/ September exam making the yearly GCE exams two series since 2018.

As usual, the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2021 -First series would be an urban-based examination. The exam is solely to help students who were unable to make their result(s) in the previously written examinations to make amendments. A total of 19 subjects have been made available for students to choose from, with minimum selected subjects being seven (7) and maximum being (9). All intending candidates are advised to visit the Councils website to access the list of available subjects and towns available for the examination.
Intending candidates are to note that the 2021 WAEC GCE registration procedure include the capturing of biometrics for the purpose of validation of the candidate’s data before being permitted to gain entrance into the examination hall.
2021 WAEC GCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
As announced by the council on their website, the 2021 WAEC GCE registration will be opened between Monday, 21st December 2020 and Friday, 29th January 2021 at 12.00 midnight.
All entries are to be done on or before Friday, 29th January 2021 as only the Council has the prerogative of extension of deadline.
WALK-IN-CANDIDATES
Candidates have the grace of registration after the close of entries stated on WAEC website. These categories of candidates are regarded as “Walk-in-Candidates”.
This grace is only valid until twenty-four hours (a day) before the first paper the candidate intends to write.
However, Walk-in-Candidates pay a different sum of money from what other candidates pay. Walk-in-Candidates are to pay the sum Thirty Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N30, 500.00), only.
WAEC GCE 2021 REGISTRATION PRICE
Candidates are to pay the sum of 14450 being payment for 13950 for PIN and bank charge of 500. This can be purchased from any of the branches of the banks listed by WAEC or any accredited agent.
Candidates will also be given VCD upon successful purchase of the pin.

As said earlier, candidates are required to pay additional five hundred naira (500.00) as commission to banks and agents.
After successful purchase of the 2021 WAEC GCE REGISTRATION PIN, candidates should proceed to the registration portal(https://registration.waecdirect.org/) for validation, but this can only be done after successful biometric capturing.
Candidates should however note that there are two types of PINS and they should ensure they purchase the right pin for registration.
CANDIDATES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Candidates with disabilities (special needs) are also to register online like every other candidate but MUST ensure they state their disabilities clearly e.g speech problem, spastic, blindness, low vision and others.
COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION
It is COMPULSORY candidates’ complete registration after two weeks of biometric capturing. Candidates are to ensure they give accurate information like gender, disability, date of birth, subjects, preferred examination local government and town, residential and postal addresses etc.
After successful biometric capturing, candidates are to print their Photo Card and are advised to make photocopies and keep in a safe place, the photo card contains vital information about the candidate eg Registration Number, Centre Number, Pin for result checking after release of results etc.
The Photo Card is the candidate’s ID CARD during examination, candidates without the photo card will not be allowed to sit for the examination.
Note: After purchasing your PIN, you are advised to keep your pin from people as it can be used by any other person.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES.
- The 2021 WAEC GCE registration fee is not refundable
- Candidates are advised to always visit the WAEC portal to download updated timetable for the examination
- The required passport specification is that, the background MUST not be coloured, the size MUST be 275 by 214 pixels, well the DIGITA persona camera will do justice to that.
- Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are not allowed into the examination hall.
- Candidates who appears to sit in two examination halls will have his/her entire results cancelled.
- The Photo Card is the only means of entrance into the examination hall, candidates without the Photo card will be denied entrance into the examination hall.
- Smoking and drinking is not allowed in the examination hall.
- Candidates must ensure they provide valid email address and phone numbers during registration, so they can easily be contacted if need be.
- The results of candidates who engage in examination malpractice will have their results cancelled and will be handed over to appropriate authorities for prosecution.
- Candidates are to sit for the exams in mufti, professional uniforms are not allowed even from the men of the armed forces, firearms and other ammunitions are also disallowed from the examination hall.
- Candidates are strongly advised to crosscheck their data before its uploaded as WAEC will not be responsible for errors made during registration.
However, corrections to entries can only be made before the commencement of the examination.
- All intending candidates should download WAEC Syllabuses for individual subjects on WAECs portal (org.ng) for adequate preparation for the examination.
- Candidates should also download and study the regulations on WAECs portal. (WAEC)
- All candidates will be given a VCD after successful purchase of PIN, candidates are advised to watch the VCD for proper information.
- Due to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, there definitely will be guidelines for candidates, Candidates must be ready to COMPLY with all given COVID-19 Regulations.
