During the meeting, it was concluded (as earlier promised) that some result will be RELEASED very soon, and some CANCELLED.

Also, in the meeting, the NEC deliberated and agreed to remove some centres for some time from conducting the WASSCE for a number of years now.

Conclusions on the WAEC GCE Held Results

WASSCE(WAEC) Result is held if there is/are reports of examination misconduct. The reporter can either be candidate-based or exam-centre-based. If it’s candidate-based, then in such centre only the candidates result will be held. But if it is an exam-centre-based malpractice, the results of the students in the whole examination centre will be HELD.

A WAEC result that has been held can either be released or cancelled depending on the conclusion of the NEC (Nigeria Examination Committee) meeting. In the NEC meeting investigation regarding the examination malpractice will be conducted.

A HELD result will be released if the candidate and the examination centre are not found guilty of the examination malpractice allegation and if they are found guilty of the examination malpractice allegations their results will be cancelled.

Now let’s discuss about the WAEC outstanding results:

The WASSCE results of 81,718 candidates were outstanding (i.e. they could not be processed or seen as a result of some errors on the part of the candidates).

Results are not fully released; they are partially released as result of queries arising from one or more combinations of the mistakes listed below:

  • Wrong or improper transfer of examination numbers in one or more papers.
  • Wrong shading or failure to shade the examination numbers.
  • Shading the objectives with biro instead of shading with a pencil
  • Mistakes in entries leading to duplication of subjects. e.g. a candidate having two or more sheets with different handwriting and students’ details.

Those errors are being corrected to ensure that all the candidates get their full results.

Please be aware and note that all outstanding results will be released. If you still have any question or enquiry, do not hesitate or feel free to ask us and comment box below and we will be willing to answer you as soon as we can.
