UPDATE! The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has decided to stick with the jamb cut off mark approved for 2019 in 2020,this was announced after the board’s policy meeting held on 16th of June, 2020.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is yet to approve cut off marks for the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, but as a reminder the board pegged the cut of mark at 160 for universities, 120 for polytechnics and colleges for admission 2019/2020.

JAMB CUT OFF MARK FOR UNIVERSITIES, POLYTECHNICS AND COLLEGES FOR 2019.
JAMB lowers cut-off mark for all tertiary institutions following poor performance of students in the just concluded University Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

JAMB official Cut-Off Marks for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges.

During last year’s 19th Policy Meeting, on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, the board approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission into all universities for the year 2020 into public. The board also pegged the minimum Cut-off mark for polytechnics and colleges of education at 120. This was the general Cut-off marks.

JAMB Cut Off mark for public universities (federal and state)

At the 19th Policy meeting, held on Tuesday, 11th June last year, the board approved 160 as minimum score for admission into public universities.
Students should however note that there are other conditions like post UTME score, WAEC grades and catchment area.

JAMB Cut Off mark for Private universities (Nationwide)

Also at the same meeting, 140 was agreed on as minimum UTME score for admission into private universities.
It is worthy of note that private universities only consider WAEC grades and post UTME score in addition to UTME score.

JAMB Cut off Mark for Public Polytechnics(Federal and State)

The board concluded on 120 as minimum UTME score for admission into public universities.
This is also in addition to performance in other requirements like, WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results, POST-UTME score, and catchment area.

Cutoff Mark for Private Polytechnics (Nationwide)

The board agreed on 110 as the JAMB Cut Off mark for 2019 admission into Nigerian private polytechnics.

JAMB Cut off Mark for Colleges of Education (Federal and State)

The board agreed on 110 as JAMB cut off mark for colleges of education, this also is in consideration with other factors stated above.

Warning! Very many blogs and websites has on them purported jamb cut off mark for 2019/2020 admission, note that jamb is yet to release any cut off mark for this year’s admission, a policy meeting where it will be discussed is scheduled mid June.

Note: From years of experience, jamb cut off mark is not a criteria a serious student should rely on because many universities operate their own cut off mark, most public universities used between180 and 200as their cut off mark against jamb’s recommended 160.
